Congratulations Ray Smith

Congratulations to Forum member and Corrections CEO Ray Smith who last night won the Leader of the Year category of the NZ Workplace Health and Safety Awards.

Ray was recognised for his transformative work within Corrections, and for his efforts to transform health and safety in the government sector through his role as Government Health and Safety Lead.

The Forum sponsors this award as a way of raising the profile of senior health and safety leadership, and to acknowledge good work.

Congratulations to the two other finalists for this award, Viv Bull from Napier Port and Roger Gray from Air NZ.

Congratulations also to the other Forum member who picked up individual or organisational awards. These include: Naylor Love Construction, Air NZ, Wellington City Council, Connetics, Napier Port, Mars, Northpower, Coca-Cola Amatil, Countdown and Forum members who are part of Staylive (Genesis Energy, Contact, Top Energy, Transpower, Meridian, Mercury).

The awards are judged by a panel of five representing WorkSafe, ACC, NZ Council of Trade Unions, Safeguard, and an industry health and safety practitioner.
