The Business Leaders’ Health and Safety Forum is today calling for robust and sustained intervention and leadership from government and business around the highly dangerous levels of silica in many engineered stone benchtops and products in New Zealand.

In a letter to government today, the New Zealand Council of Trade Unions (NZCTU) has pushed for a ban of all engineered stone, to follow Australia which from 1 July 2024 bans all new engineered stone benchtops, panels and slabs.
